Certified speech-language pathologist
(CCC-SLP.D) who has worked with Pediatrics since 1994. Her academic
background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and
Psychology, and her Master’s and Doctorate Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
She has also received special traning in Aquatic Therapy, Hippo Therapy,
NeuroDevelopmental Treatment for infants and young children with neuromusculature
dysfunction, and prompt for children who suffer from apraxia. In addition, she
specializes in identifying individuals who may benefit from genetic services.
Dr. Reid has provided pediatric diagnostic and intervention
services in various settings including rehabilitation centers, private practice
settings, home-based settings, and special and public school settings.
Prior to opening her own private practice she clinically supervised speech and
language pathology students in private settings and at FloridaInternationalUniversity
in South Florida as an adjunct professor. She
has also conducted several in-service treatment labs on rib cage mobility and
vocal production.
Dr. Reid has published research studies related to
Neuro-Developmental Treatment on Airflow and Sustained Phonation in Children
with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy, Language Comprehension Performance of
African-American Children, and she has Developed a tool that aid Speech
Language Pathologist in distinguishing phonological differences versus
phonological disorder in children who speak African-American English.
She has extensive clinical experience in addressing a
variety of communication impairments including disorders of early language
development, disorders of speech sound production/apraxia, oral motor/feeding
difficulties, fluency, voice, cleft palate, multiple disabilities (Cerebral
palsy, Down syndrome, Angelman syndrome), and global developmental
delays.
Mayvelis Muñoz Diaz, M.S., CCC-SLP
Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist
Mayvelis is a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist fluent
in Spanish and English. She graduated from Florida International University
with a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2007. She
received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology
from Nova Southeastern University in 2003.
For the past three years, Mayvelis has been involved in
providing screening, diagnostic, and therapeutic intervention services to
patients with speech and language disorders in a variety of locations,
including private and public schools, nursing homes, home-based settings, and
private practice settings. She has worked with patients with the following
disorders: articulation/ phonology, apraxia, expressive/receptive language,
voice, fluency, oral motor, feeding and swallowing, cerebral palsy, down
syndrome, and autism, across all age groups.

in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy.
Erin has worked in many
pediatric settings such as schools, clinics, and on the farm providing
hippotherapy services!
Erin is from Massachusetts
and decided to move to Florida
in October of 2005 in search of sunshine!
In the future Erin
would like to live on lots of land in the mountains and start a
hippotherapy practice and/or a summer camp for children with special needs.
